War for The Planet of The Apes: Peace and Freedom Aren't Free

I heard this movie from my friend, saying the review was good. Following my motto, if a movie is good and I still have some money in my wallet then it deserves to be watched in cinema. I thought WFTPOTA (the title is too long so let's just shorten it) was the second movie but it was actually the third movie. I knew that I needed to watch the first and second movie if I didn't want to be confused and kept asking myself the basic formula of asking questions or 5w + 1h. Long story short, my eyes were puffy and the childish side of me kept saying "human are really the cruelest living creatures in this world". So, the day of finally watching how strong and smart Caesar is came.

The opening scene was presented with soldiers exchanging bullets with apes in the woods. Who is the winner? Human. Almost. If only the apes army didn't get help from their supporting troops. It was then revealed that Caesar's base was hidden near waterfall. They were in a mission to find a new home because the humans kept attacking them. The conflict started. One of the apes believed they had to leave as soon as possible, but Caesar disagreed. It was not easy to mobilize lots of apes for their journey. They needed to prepare lots of things. Later that night, some soldiers infiltrated Caesar's base. The colonel shot Caesar's first son and his wife. Caesar was furious and his mind filled with hatred and revenge. He commanded all the apes except him to go to their destination. Originally, he gonna go to the soldiers' base alone but Maurice, Rocket and Luca didn'tlet him. Along the way, Caesar found a little girl who has got infected by Simian Flu and it made her to unable to speak. He also met a chimpanzee who could talk and lived alone. He gained the soldiers' base location from him. Soon, he was in dilemma. To avenge the death of his first son and wife or to save his apes colony.

The opinions for this movie was divided. Some said it was really great. Some said it was meh. As for someone who watched the previous sequel, I couldn't deny that this movie was good to watch. I could feel Caesar's emotion. I understood his reason. He just wanted to live in peace with his family but the chaos resulted from Koba's hate didn't end. He showed his mercy but humans couldn't trust him. Judging from human's perspective, I related to their feelings. Their insecurities got the best of them. Apes weren't supposed to be smarter than humans. Humans were in danger and almost became endangered species because their immune system wasn't able to protect them from Simian flu. Human and apes were both driven by their instinct to survive. I was feeling emotional during this movie. How fragile. Although the duration of this movie is relatively long, I almost didn't realize it. For those of you who are worried that this movie is gonna be heavy, I assure you it won't. I didn't expect the humor. At all. And it was refreshing to see. I needed a break to gather my feelings back, okay? I might feel emotional but I succeded in holding back my tears (bc I wore eyeliner and I didn't want to ruin it lol). I'd like to thank Matt Reeves and Mark Bomback who done a great job for this movie. They ended this trilogy beautifully. It's rare for me to find good sequel movies. Despite the success, I hope they won't make another sequel. I know it's a very biased opinion, but for me this movie started with Caesar and that's why it should be ended with Caesar too.
